Bonaforte's Kennel Complete Mother & Puppy — Salmon with Potato — a super premium complete food formulated for large breed puppies, with the macros a big frame needs to grow correctly.
This is the food we feed our own litters, and getting it right matters more in a giant breed than in any other. A large breed puppy puts on an enormous amount of frame in a short time, and growing too fast or on the wrong balance of protein, fat and minerals is exactly what causes trouble later. This recipe is built for steady, correct growth: 27% protein and 15% fat at 388 kcal/100g, with calcium held at 1.1% and phosphorus at 0.7% — enough to build bone properly without pushing growth faster than the joints can carry. A joint care pack of glucosamine, MSM and chondroitin supports cartilage while that frame is still forming, and the kibble is shaped and sized for a large breed puppy's mouth.
It suits mothers in whelp and in milk just as well as the puppies they are raising, and it is a sound choice for smaller breeds too — but it is the large and giant breeds it was designed around. Nutrition developed in our own Irish Wolfhound kennel.
What's in it, and why

All puppies are different, so treat this as a starting point and adapt it to breed, temperament and activity level — and keep your puppy lean rather than round. When changing foods, introduce the new food gradually over a period of two weeks. Always ensure fresh, clean water is available.
The kibble
A crunchy kibble, 20mm (+/- 1mm) by 7mm (+/- 0.5mm), sized and shaped for large breed puppies. Up to 18 month shelf life.
